10/3/2026
If you want to experience Omakase in Ho Chi Minh City at a more budget-friendly price, go to Omakase Tiger and choose the 780K, 880K, or 980K set menus to watch the chef prepare dishes up close.
Want to try Omakase? You don't necessarily have to spend millions of Vietnamese dong.
Many people think Omakase in Ho Chi Minh City is expensive and requires dressing very formally. However Omakase Tiger offers a relatively affordable entry option, with set menus starting from 780,000 Vietnamese dong, up to about 980,000 Vietnamese dong; you can sit at a small counter and watch the chef prepare sushi and dishes course by course. It's great for first-time Omakase diners.

What makes Omakase Tiger special?
Omakase means leaving the menu to the chef. Omakase Tiger has limited seating; diners sit at the counter and can see the chef handle sashimi, adjust sauces, and serve dishes one by one. The whole dinner feels more like a small culinary performance rather than a regular à la carte Japanese restaurant.
The Thảo Điền location has the atmosphere of traditional Vietnamese houses and Hue-style architecture and a quiet environment; the Penthouse location is on a higher floor where you can enjoy Japanese dishes while admiring Bình Thạnh's night view. Both locations have few seats, bringing the chef and guests closer.

How to choose between the 780K, 880K, and 980K set menus?
From the in-house menu, the sets are mainly offered at three price points:
- 780,000 Vietnamese dong: about 10 dishes, approx NT$959/人民幣 ¥211/港幣 HK$235.
- 880,000 Vietnamese dong: about 12 dishes, approx NT$1,082/人民幣 ¥238/港幣 HK$266.
- 980,000 Vietnamese dong: about 14 dishes, approx NT$1,205/人民幣 ¥265/港幣 HK$296.
The above are the menu-listed prices; taxes and a 5% service charge are added. The 780K includes seasonal appetizers, chawanmushi, shrimp, mackerel, tuna, salmon and other sushi; the 980K adds wagyu, Hokkaido scallops, sea urchin and fish roe.

What will you actually eat?
The menu is adjusted by season and daily ingredients. Photos show appetizers, chawanmushi, various nigiri sushi and seafood dishes, including bluefin tuna, shrimp, mackerel, salmon, anago and sea urchin.
If you don't eat raw oysters, sea urchin or certain fish, it's best to inform them when booking.

How to choose between the two branches?
Omakase Tiger Thảo Điền is located at 48A Trần Ngọc Diện, Thảo Điền, Hồ Chí Minh, open Tuesday to Sunday 17:30–22:30, closed on Monday. This location has about 14 seats per time slot; the official recommendation is to book in advance.
Omakase Tiger – The Penthouse is located on the 8th floor of 85/9 Phạm Viết Chánh, Bình Thạnh, Hồ Chí Minh, with similar hours of 17:30–22:30; some time slots offer 17:30 and 20:00 seatings. The Penthouse has about 8 seats; if you want to see the sunset and night view, ask for an earlier seating.
Both branches recommend reservations and may require each guest to pay a deposit of about 500,000 越南盾訂金(約 NT$615/人民幣 ¥135/港幣 HK$151). When booking, confirm the address for that day to avoid confusing the Thảo Điền and Bình Thạnh branches.
Notes to watch for with affordable Omakase
Although prices are affordable, the set menu is not à la carte; if you have food allergies, dietary restrictions or don't eat raw food, you must state this when booking. Seating is limited, and being late may affect the serving schedule.
If you're looking for an affordable dinner that lets you experience the chef's cooking up close, Omakase Tiger is worth considering. After the meal, if you want to continue relaxing, you can go to Win Royal Spa at 48 Lê Thị Hồng Gấm, open daily 09:00–22:00, to try a Vietnamese-style head-wash massage to end your evening.
